Art After Dark
Rory Decker work’s locally as an illustrator, conceptual artist, and educator of web design and the arts. His featured collection is made of personal work; painted in digital formats but always drawing from knowledge of traditional mediums.
The collection itself has a hint of the surreal and art nouveau influences. Much of the portraits favor a limited color palette, used sparingly to emphasize the strong black and whites. Other pieces in the collection feature landscapes and conceptual work ranging from the believable to unbelievable.
The main goal with many of the pieces is to let the eye roam around the paintings, finding new shapes and forms beyond the subject matter itself in hopes for long term enjoyment and interest.
